Pembs 20th & 21st October 2001

Louise picked me up at my house while Darren and Rachel went on ahead to sample the greasy breakfast at a motorway service station. We met up at Pont Abraham and from there to Martins Haven

We went in as two separate pairs Lou and me, while Darren was with Rachel. However the viz was very bad and eventually I found myself with Darren and Lou had teamed up with Rachel. This was obviously not an idea situation, as neither of us knew where the others were so we surfaced and aborted the dive.

The highlight of this visit was undoubtedly the 2 seal pups that were on the beach.

From here we went to St Brides, but despite going in we could not get anything like safe conditions so we had an early finish.

On the Sunday Rachel and Darren were doing some shore diving while Lou and I were booked in with West Wales Diving School to do an extended duration course.

These 2 dives were very relaxing and it just goes to show that we all swim along much too fast and should pay more attention to what is in front of us as we saw much more than I would normally have seen. The result was also the lowest SAC that I have had to date.

A great weekend with Bruce and Jen which as usual resulted in me getting home quite late.
