Our MG - Elvis

We bought our MGB GT just before Christmas 1997, and are members of the MG Owners Club and MG Car Club. We have christened it Elvis since the bonnet does not sit straight and it appears to sneer. In May 1998 we joined the Ayrshire Branch of the MG Owners Club. The Ayrshire MGOC meets every second Thursday of the month at the Abbotsford Hotel, 14 Corsehill Road, Ayr at 7:45pm for 8:00pm. The Caledonian Branch of the MG Car club meetings at the Garfield House Hotel in Stepps, Glasgow (close to the end of the M80) on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:45pm for 8pm.

Although we do some work on the car ourselves, we are not mechanically minded, so most of the difficult work is carried out at McFadden's Classic Sports Cars in Motherwell. Paul McFadden can be contacted on 01698 254141.

1998 was the first full year we had the car. We have produced summaries of our activities in 1998 and 1999.

Our current MG plans for the next few months (subject to change) include:-

Elvis is currently on the fit for the road, with a current MOT. Following the purchase of our Fiat Punto, which was replaced with a Ford Ka in December 2004, Elvis has very rarely been used for general trips.
