Steyning Methodist Church:
Circuit Good Friday Walk 2000

The Worthing Circuit of Methodist Churches have for many years organised a service and cross-country walk every Good Friday, which enables us to remember our Lord's death on the Cross but which has also become a focal point for renewing friendships between the churches.

This year it was hosted by the Southwick Church, and began with a service in that Church at 10:00am on Good Friday, 21st April. This was followed by an inter-church gathering in Southwick Square for a short open-air service, with members of all churches in the area. The walk then left at 12:30, and headed for a good picnic spot on the South Downs above the Southwick tunnel (below).

After lunch, the group split into two, one to follow a short route (about 5 miles in all), the other for a more lengthy walk (about 10 miles in all), both finishing at the Southwick Church again later that afternoon.

The Church then laid on a hot meal, which was very much appreciated by all.
