Some facts about GMAS

Greater Manchester Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides a Paramedic Emergency Service together with a Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service to almost three million residents across an area of 500 square miles.
This area covers the County of Greater Manchester and Glossop, Derbyshire.

There are  35 Ambulance Stations throughout Greater Manchester.
Greater Manchester Ambulance Service employs approximately 1,600 staff

The Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service  (PTS) undertakes over 1 million journeys a year. This includes transporting patients to day care, rehabilitation, physiotherapy and out patients as well as non-emergency admissions and transfers

Accident & Emergency Vehicles  GMAS operates 140 accident and emergency vehicles , 717 paramedics
and technicians and  86 emergency dispatchers. The Paramedic Emergency Service (PES) attended 272,464 incidents last year which is an average of 47 activations per hour

Rapid Response Unit  Consists of 10  rapid response vehicles (with the capacity to extend to 19 when required) positioned strategically throughout Greater Manchester


Ladybride Hall training cente is located in Bolton, for more than twenty years Ladybridge Hall has been training ambulance crews

Greater Manchester Ambulance Service Headquarters is located in Whiterfield.
Emergency Control Centre and  IT Department is located in West Gorton.
Finance department is located in Bolton.

Greater Manchester Ambulance Service was recently re-accredited with the Investors in People Award.
Training and development of all staff is a priority and career progression within the service is encouraged.
