Who are we?
We are a small Independent Methodist Church and an Anglican
Mission Church based in the North West of England. We are about five miles from an
industrial town called Wigan in a place named Ashton-in-Makerfield. The Independent
Methodist Church has been established here since 1854 and the Anglican Mission Church
since 1874.
The Independent Methodist denomination does not have paid
full-time ministers, but the Church does have two unpaid ministers. St Luke's, the
Anglican Mission Church, belongs to the Parish of St Thomas's Church.
We are currently sharing our church building with our fellow
Christians from St Luke's since they lost the use of their church building in November
1997.
There are great plans for the future as we have now realised that
we should be working together to share the Lord's love with the people surrounding the
building. Further details will be posted on these pages as the plans become firm and we
would ask that you would pray for both churches as we strive to serve the Lord together.
On other pages you can learn more about both churches.
