We are all programmed. Whether by genetic inheritance, or the insidious influence of everything around us from the womb onward. We are shaped and moulded by circumstance, inheritors of all that went before, wearers of the family "clothing"...we are in effect our parents (and theirs before them) playing out through us. Patterns are repeated unconsciously generation after generation, it is difficult to awaken to this fact and to step out of the revolving wheel that repeats themes ad infinitum, as it is difficult to awaken from a dream when you are unaware that you are sleeping. 
Each family carries archetypal themes within its collective psyche,and each new generation plays it out from a slightly different, hopefully more evolved perspective.It is the undercurrents within the family psyche, the unspoken, the repressed, the shadow that is acted out or suffered by successive generations, as well as the more obvious attributes that have been held dear and passed down like a legacy. As we usually have no idea that all this is occurring, unless we have some reason to look deeply into our lives, our backgrounds, our inheritance. We accept that this is how life is...this is how we are, we can't consciously break patterns until we are conscious of their existence. This can involve a lot of questioning of things that are so ingrained a part of you, that you can mistake them for you.A good starter would be to try to imagine who would you be, if you had been born on the other side of the world to different parents into a totally different culture with a totally different belief system....it takes some thinking about, doesn't it? For instance if you are an American, what if you had been born and raised in China, what part of you, would still be you. The thing is, that at your core you would still be the same essence that you were at birth, the same soul, the same you, before you were taught/programmed to be who you are now, but maybe not the you that you recognise as defined by all of the things you have been taught/programmed to believe that you are. If you were able to find inside of you, the part of you that you would still recognise as you, then you have just made contact with your "soul". We each have a link, an eternal hotline to ourselves...to our "soul" our "higher self" our "guiding force" our "light". And the more it is used and relied upon, the stronger it becomes. So go inside yourself, find the stillness at the hub of the wheel and ask your self for guidance...for help on your journey, and then be aware of the difference that being conscious of your "core" connection will make to your life. If you can look out at your world from this space, you can begin to untie the chains that keep you shackled to habit and repeating patterns. It will give you choices that you didn't know that you had. Most people look outside of their selves for lifes answers, to gods, gurus, leaders, family, partners almost anyone except themselves. No one knows what is best for you, better than your own soul. Get in touch, trust yourself, look within and establish your own hotline with the "eternal you," you will not be disappointed. 
 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND THE AGE OF AQUARIUS I feel that the world wide web is one of the biggest reflections that mankind has, of the evolution of the collective psyche of humanity. It truly is a new age, barriers have been removed, all is equal and available in cyberspace, an evolutionary step has been taken, a critical mass has been reached, the information age has arrived. Barriers of nation, distance, class, are disappearing, I can now have meaningful contact with someone on the other side of our world...from my armchair. A new awareness is spreading...information technology/Uranus is breaking down the Saturnian structure and replacing it. (As in tarot the tower is destroyed and rebuilt in a newer, more evolved state.) There are those, that see this change as something external to be feared, rather than an accurate mirror to echo the emerging of a new consciousness, that is striving to be fully aware and awake on the earth.
 OUR CHOICE Any situation can be transformed by a shift in attitude or understanding. Anything can be resolved, evolved, transformed. Nothing is static, except for maybe a rigidly guarded viewpoint/standpoint. Life naturally evolves if allowed to do so unimpeded, towards our ultimate greater good...our evolution. We are part of an evolving universe/god/creator/energy, and hologram like, everything contains the reflection of the whole. There is no good, no bad, no right, no wrong, there is just the evolution of a whole system, everything finding its place, resolving and purifying, refining all. If any energy (e.g. sexuality, anger etc) is distorted, it is due to repression, misunderstanding, misprogramming, misuse maybe, not to any inherent defect in the energy itself. All energy when allowed to run in its pure form, is a clean function that has its place in an evolving universe as much as in a evolving psyche. Energy gets twisted and polluted, as psychic debris is accrued, generation after generation. Repression and distortion has left us with a legacy which must be understood, for the light of an awakened consciousness can not shine through us when we are polluted by fear, hand me down belief systems and programming which is, for the main part unenlightened. We are all participants in the universal play, and all have power to change the reflections that we see in our world, by examining our own beliefs fears and programming. It is inside us that the control panel rests. The world is our mirror, if we are unhappy with any reflection, we have a choice, we can continue to act it out externally, or we can adjust our reality from within...for it is a new era in the evolution of consciousness, and ultimately, it is our choices as individuals that will eventually decide our collective future. 
REALITY? There is no one objective reality...there are many "realities." Everyones reality is so different, both physically, mentally and emotionally. You can never completely share a "reality" with anyone, because everything we see, observe, hear or experience is filtered through us. And because of this fact, is coloured by our expectation and our total life experience up to that point. Which will always add subtle overtones to our view. For example, if two people are asked to view and describe the same room, one, if having been bought up in a large house with spacious rooms, will view the room as small, while another having been used to small cosy cottage rooms will view the same room as a large room, who is correct? which is "reality." One person could hear the sound of a marching band and be reminded of dear old uncle Harold, who played the bass drum in one for thirty years, and all the fun and ice creams a visit to hear him entailed. Whilst another could think of a wartime friend who died tragically, trombone still at his lips, do you get my point? You could spend 24 hours a day with someone, share your life, a life you had "built" together. But still that person would always be looking at you, while you would always be looking at them, even if you were looking at the same object, you would never be observing it from exactly the same space, at exactly the same time. Reality is personal, one person loves dogs and has always had one as best friend, another is frightened by dogs, terrified, feeling that they will harm  him. They come across a stray dog in the street, what is the reality of the situation? is there one? the men, the dog, or us, as observers will all see the situation differently. People tend to feel, that if other people do not experience or see things in the same way that they do, that in some way the other person is judging their experience as wrong. Or that if their personal experience of "reality" is correct...then other views of "reality" must be wrong. So believing in "one reality" can cause disruptions, friction, hurt feelings and frequently causes wars. For if you believe that there is only one reality...and all your beliefs and life experiences have backed up that you are right. Then obviously it must be very difficult to understand that the other person feels exactly the same as you do, because all of their beliefs and life experiences have led them to their conclusion in exactly the same way. In each of these "Realities" each person is correct. The familiar cry is...we can't both be right. Understand the concept of realities and you will see..."yes we can".
Children are the future. The balance of humanity and our planet is in their hands. So imagine how beneficial it would be to mankind, the planet and future generations, if they were taught in schools basic universal laws and some guidelines for getting the most out of being human.  Instead of having a population sick and stressed by modern living, imagine having a generation who realised that they were all unique individuals and knew the value of their own distinct gifts, rather than valuing the hand me down views and ideals of the "herd" But it seems that society, and the establishment in general, seem to find individualism threatening or at best very unsettling. We are rewarded for conforming, for abiding by rules, for not questioning (unless of course we are asked to do so). So children grow up judging themselves, their lives and their values by the current values and opinions held by society at large. Now instead of just the destined few who braved the torrent to enable themselves to stand on higher ground, is it not time for the next step forward. Time to give the masses a new view on the real nature of reality. Educate the young with the fruits of our searchings, let the great truths become as ingrained as the alphabet. So that they may go forth without the hindrance of dogma, prejudice and programming. In there stead let them carry the tools of expanded understanding and a knowledge of the true nature of themselves and of reality. |
