In February I carried out a flying visit (in more ways than one) to Singapore. The purpose of the was to run a workshop for a mix of nationalities on the subject of difficult people.
Most of the delegates were from the Far East in particular Vietnam, Korea, Shanghai and Singapore, which made it fascinating. Those people that know the basis of the workshop which is about analysing other peoples (and ones own) behaviour, then responding differently to previously, will be aware of the potential cultural impact on the process. One other factor is the use of appropriate assertion as a key skill, a topic that in terms of behaviour can mean something different in the Far East. So as ever the trainer was educated as well! |
