The club was formed for the 1999-2000 season Tarporley Wanderers started life as a stand alone under 12's football team playing in the Mid Cheshire Youth League. The team developed from cub football in Tarporley. At the ripe old age of 11 cub football careers came to an end. These players had nowhere local to go and play competitive football. Actively encouraged by the boys and parents we set about forming a team. The initial squad were mainly graduates of cub football with a couple of additional local players. The players themselves then selected their own name. Thanks to some generous local grants (Arthur Meredith Fund and Shell UK) etc. the club was formed. THE FIRST BATCH The first season in open league football we managed the transition very well, proving to be difficult to beat. The second season proved to be more fruitful gaining promotion to the 1st Division, third season proved difficult and saw the squad relegated back to division 2. Season 4 saw the squad back in wining ways and promotion to division 1 again. Season 5 saw us stay in division 1 by our own right. 12 of the original squad will moved to under 17's with another 2 coming back before the season finished. The 2004 -2005 season was a good one placed 3rd in Division 1 and beaten semi finalists. Moving to South Cheshire league for under 18's with most of the lads, 2005-6 was the year Wanderers won there first Cup. For 2006-7 there still remained 9 squad members from last season so we went as under 18's for a second year, now 8 seasons old and were rewarded for doing so being crowned South Cheshire Youth Premier League champions and also Fair play award. A great way to round off a great 8 year period, from the managers thanks to all the lads THE SECOND BATCH The second batch have had success in in two consecutive years winning Division 3 at the first attempt and finishing runners up in Division two in the second season. These also found it difficult in Division 1 but will be playing at that level in the under 15's for the 2004- 2005 season. Life again difficult and back to division 2 for Under 16's 2005 - 2006 season, more success this year, staying together for under 17s in 2006-7 season. A good season all round, wining plenty and enjoying all. Team finishes after 6 seasons in the Mid Cheshire league. Well done gents you were a credit to the club THE THIRD BATCH Started life for the 2003/4 season a new under 12's squad playing in the Mid Cheshire youth league, this squad performed well finishing fourth in there first season, 16 of the starters will remain in the squad for 2004-2005. This season proved harder than the first and points not as readily available, finished mid table. 2005-6 was a much better season, now difficult to beat and getting the hang of winning. Moving to South Cheshire at 15's for 2006-7 season finishing 3rd in the league and beaten finalists in the Concorde Vase.. Well done boys. This group will be the elder statesmen for the 2007-08 season continuing in the South Cheshire Youth League THE FOURTH BATCH Started in the 2004-2005 season as a new under 14's squad, competed well and earned respect from other teams, will be running again as 15's in the 2005-6 season. Again found points hard to earn but a good run at the end was no more than they deserved. Playing as 16s for 2006-07 and having some good runs of results. A team that showed great spirit with players and management being a credit to the club achieving a 1/4 final place in teh district cup. Team will not run in 2007-08 after 3 seasons in Mid Cheshire THE FIFTH BATCH THE SIXTH BATCH THE SEVENTH BATCH
The Under 16's team play at Barony Park and are managed by Andy Williams and
Penny Watson
