a
fantastic
save
at
the
foot
of
a
Blades
player
to
keep
us
in
the
game.
On
30
minutes
a
piece
of
good
play
and
a
good
cross
was
met
by
a
Blades
midfielder
who
had
run
a
long
way
to
level
the
score.
Wanderers
new
approach
took
the
game
to
the
next
level
and
within
minutes
a
good
run
by
Barney
H,
crossed
for
Scott
Armstrong
to
pounce
and
the
lead
was
restored.
This
was
the
score
at
half
time.
In
the
second
half
Wanderers
took
the
game
to
the
next
level,
playing
with
width,
this
meant
Ryan
now
got
into
the
game,
giving
the
defenders
a
torrid
time.
Blades
chances
reduced
as
Wanderers
increased
but
in
fairness
to
Blades
they
were
very
resilient,
it
took
around
25
minutes
to
be
broken
down
but
a
superb
controlled
and
steered
ball
from
the
chest
of
Nathan
Thorpe
into
James
Handley
put
the
game
beyond
Eagles,
The
game
was
rounded
up
with
Barneys
second
late
in
the
game

Report:
Opening
game
of
the
season
was
against
a
much
fancied
Willaston
White
Star,
the
first
30
minutes
was
a
strongly
contended
feisty
affair
that
was
fairly
even
and
not
a
lot
to
choose
between
the
sides.
On
30
minutes
however
it
was
1st
blood
to
WWS,
Dan
Ball
going
closest
to
the
equaliser
but
WWS
went
in
1-0
at
half
time.
Wanderers
were
not
in
the
mood
to
give
this
one
up
and
started
with
a
more
deliberate
approach
and
it
wasn't
long
before
a
well
delivered
ball
from
Fitzty
found
Jamie
Ball
who
netted
to
make
it
1-1.
Five
minutes
later
we
thought
we
were
in
front
when
an
excellent
team
goal
and
flicked
header
from
Jamie
B
was
steered
into
the
path
of
Adam
Williams
who
headed
passed
the
keeper
but
found
it
wrongly
ruled
out
for
offside.
A
further
5
minutes
into
the
game
and
this
time
Jamie
Ball
steered
the
ball
in
to
path
of
brother
Dan
who
struck
a
great
shot
to
put
wanderers
in
the
lead.
A
gutsy
but
deliberate
battling
performance
ensued
but
Wanderers
showed
enough
strength
to
see
the
game
out
and
win
2-1

Comments:
A
terrific
team
performance
today
players
worked
hard
for
each
other
and
a
fantastic
testament
with
the
introduction
of
the
two
new
players
who
looked
if
they
had
played
with
us
for
ever.
Should
we
continue
to
combine
this
battling
effort
and
ability
it
could
be
a
rewarding
season
