TARPORLEY
WANDERERS U12S 2008/9 Date:
30/11/2008 Score:
TW 3 : Betley
1 Betley provided much stiffer opposition in this
league encounter and whilst TW looked comfortable for long periods
Betley were dangerous on the break and only a string of fine saves by
Oliver Tyler, including two penalty saves, kept TW in front.
Stevie Pover again showed his composure in front of goal with
three fine goals for his second hat trick of the season. Date:
23/11/2008 Score:
TW 5 : Betley
0 On a very windy day TW were able to control the
match from the start. Matt
Sheen proved a real handful for the Betley defence with many strong
runs and crosses from the left flank from which Stevie Pover scored
two well taken goals. Matt added two goals himself and Max Himbury
also scored a good goal. Date:
16/11/2008 Score:
TW 6 : Blacon
YC 12 After the disappointment of the previous weeks
match the boys picked themselves up to give a good display against
Blacon. The first half
was close with the defence working hard to restrict Blacon’s chances
on goal and TW were able to go in at half time leading 2 – 1.
Blacon equalised early in the second half with a well struck
goal but TW responded with a goal almost immediately to restore their
lead and were then able to capitalise with three further goals on the
break as Blacon pressed. Date:
09/11/2008 Score:
TW 1 : Alex
Soccer centre 12 Another disappointing result against the league
leaders who dominated the game from the start.
The only consolation this time is that we did manage to find
the net when Stevie Pover broke clear to slot the ball past the ASC
goalkeeper. Date:
02/11/2008 Score:
TW 4 : Alsager Panthers 2 Another very close match against a good Alsager
side. TW withstood considerable pressure in the first half with Jack
Harrison making a great debut in defence. In the second half TW took
control with four good goals from Max Himbury, Terry Rowlands, Tom
McAndrew and Stevie Pover, who also hit the post twice with good
efforts. Date:
19/10/2008 Score:
TW 0 : Crewe FC 3 A much closer match than the score line
suggested. TW gifted Crewe FC a goal direct from a corner very early
in the match but then worked really hard to contain Crewe FC.
In the second half TW pressed hard for an equaliser but despite
several good chances were unable to score.
Crewe FC were dangerous on the break scoring a second goal. TW
then had a penalty awarded when Max Himbury was brought down in the
box after a tremendous run virtually the whole length of the pitch.
Unfortunately TW were unable to convert the penalty and Crewe
FC added a third just before the end. Score:
TW 2 : Brookfield Rangers 6 Another
match played on a very large, and sloping pitch. Playing downhill in the first half Tarporley created several
good early chances but were unable to convert any of them. Brookfield countered well scoring two quick goals.
Tarporley pulled themselves back into the game to level the
score at half time but were outplayed in the second half as Brookfield
made much better use of the slope, scoring several very good long
range goals to win the game as Tarporley tired. |
