Taunton Concert Band at the NCBF RNCM Manchester 24th March 2002

NEWS FROM  NCBF MANCHESTER

TCB was once again awarded the bronze prize from the NCBF on Saturday 23rd March 2002.  Felt as a disappointment throughout the band but still left the sprawling mass of Manchester with our spirits high after an enjoyable weekend and hopes of achieving the dizzy heights of silver and gold stardom when we next enter in two years time.  The overall performance was a brilliant repeat of the same old distinguished standard that we constantly perform but the band can only improve with time to meet the increasing high standards of the BASBWE judges.  During our 20 minute slot we played 5 entertaining yet very opposite styled pieces and they were:

Flourish for Wind Band by R. Vaughan Williams

Toccata Marziale by R. Vaughan Williams

Marching Song by Gustav Holst

Night in Mexico by Paul Creston

and

Analog by Jeff Simmons

AWARD WINNING BAND AT BREWHOUSE
