Hales is the maiden name of my great grandmother. I had traced her ancestry back to her grandparents, Charles and Susannah (or Susan) Hales. Thanks to Charles Cawley I have Charles' ancestry back to c 1575.

Thomas married Margrett Hall in 1600 (? see birth of son John, below) at Swynnerton, and served as churchwarden. He seems to have been comparitively wealthy, paying a high amount for the repair of the Church, second only to 'Anthony Fitzherbert gent' (? a possible forbear of Lord Stafford)
