My name is Thomas Benjamin (Ben) Parkes and I was born in Bloxwich Maternity Home, Bloxwich, Walsall, Staffordshire, UK, on July 20^th 1935.

I have a brother, Colin David Parkes, born August 30^th 1941, also at Bloxwich Maternity Home

Our parents were:

Thomas Benjamin Parkes (1905-1978)

Nellie Dorothy Dyoss (1905-2000)

I am currently trying to do some research into my family antecedents, (isn't everyone?), though I have not, so far, personally achieved a great deal; much of what the site contains is acknowledged as being due to the efforts of others whose family trees overlaps ours, and I hope other visitors to this site will be able to give me some additional pointers, as well as finding information valid to their research.

My grateful thanks go to very distant relative Charles Cawley (going backwards, our families converge at James Hales, born 1741 in Swynnerton, Staffordshire) for giving me his research into the Hales family, and taking me from a full stop around 1780, back to 1575,

and to Bill Cotgreave who has the Cotgreave line back to 1210.
