He may be the son of John Hales of Swynnerton, see above, but no proof has been found . It is unlikely that any more information on this family will come to light. There is a gap in the Swynnerton PRs from 1627-1646, which would have been the period when John"s children were christened. Bur 21 Jul 1694 (Swynnerton) "Jacobus Hales". No wills are listed for Hales in Swynnerton in the Staffordshire probate index. m 4 Sep 1665 (Wolstanton) HELEN POOL "James Hales & Helen Pool". (Some IGI records of wedding mention a Stephen Hales as a relative(? ? MARY HALES. Born after 1824 (minor in 1845 marriage entry). Not in 1841 census with her presumed parents. Not found in the 1881 census although her husband is "married" in his entry. It is not certain that Mary was the daughter of James Hales of Yarnfield. The fact that there is no baptism for Mary recorded at Swynnerton RC chapel would indicate that she was not.
