KNARESBOROUGH MUMMERS

Charities

We try and support local charities from the money we collect on our Blue Stots tours.  That is not to say we do not support overseas charities – we have done in the past but, as reported in the international press, sometimes large sums of money intended for the victims of natural disasters, etc., have gone “missing” which is why we prefer to use the money where we can see that it reaches the right people.  We have however sponsored individuals to work abroad for worthy causes.

Some of the charities we have made donations to over the years are listed below:-

Follifoot Park Disabled Riders Group

Jennyruth Workshops

Harrogate and District Talking Newspaper

Henshaw’s

Knaresborough Forest Special Needs School

The Frazer Theatre, Knaresborough

Tsunami Relief Work - Mike Johnson (second from left) and Doug Child (fourth from left) working in Sri Lanka 2005.

The English Folk Dance and Song Society
