and it's a file format developed by the lovely people at Adobe to make sure that any document I create for you to read looks exactly the same on your computer as it does on mine. Where a Word document might look different on two computers depending on what fonts the computers have loaded onto them, PDFs should be identical - and remain identical if you decide that you want to print them off.

In order to read PDF documents, you need to use the Adobe Reader program. This is a free program that you can download from Adobe and install by clicking on the little button at the bottom of this page.
