MODULE 1: September 29th 2003 - December 15th 2003

Location: Exodus DTC, Coleraine

Programme: Certificates in Biblical Studies, Leadership Training, and Practical Youth Ministry

Biblical Studies (50 taught hours)

Local Pastors and ministers combine wisdom to bring you a Bible Study curriculum which will help you understand more of Scripture and apply it’s lessons to your life. The elements will include surveys of both Old and New Testaments as well as more specific elements from each.

Leadership Training

The ex-tend leadership programme has been adapted to give participants training, skills and accountability in leadership development. This element takes up 40 hours and will provide you with vital experience if you are involved in any way in Christian leadership. Acquire training in the area of discipleship. How did Jesus win, build and equip his disciples for ministry. What does the Great Commission mean for disciples of the 3rd millennium a.d. ?

Practical ‘Youth Ministry’

Weekly seminars which will help you to acquire more practical skills and training in areas which are important to youth culture and ministry. This is where the rubber hits the road

Other elements of Module 1 include meeting regularly with one other person for devotional Bible study, and for the duration of the programme Exodus provides someone with whom you can relate your experiences to (good and bad!!). This mentor will help you maximise the experience of this programme

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

Opportunity for ministry in Exodus, local schools and Church congregations

We will provide opportunities to get involved with local ministries and assist them in their work. This may include school groups, youth clubs, outreach events etc..

Short Term local ministry project

It is our hope to provide you with one opportunity to get involved with another group outside of Exodus in order that you might get experience of what is happening in the wider Church body in Ireland. These projects will be worked out on an individual basis

MODULE 2: January 3rd 2004 - March 27th 2004

Location: South Africa or Romania

Programme:

The team will be split into two small groups after Christmas to take part in an extended international project in either of these two countries. This twelve week block will include ministry opportunities partnering with ‘local’ congregations and organisations.

In Romania, opportunities abound to get alongside and encourage those who work with orphans and children in need. Exodus has had a longstanding partnership with a few Children’s Homes and ministry will include passing on lot’s of love and care to the children.

The extended project will give each participant opportunity to build good relationships with their hosts and also to get a real feel for the culture that sometimes isn’t possible in a shorter visit. In giving to these young lives, you will definitely receive more than you can imagine.

In South Africa, the team will be partnering with a congregation who have a real passion for both discipleship and community involvement. Over the past few years many of our ‘summer teams’ have been blessed and changes by their visit to South Africa. This team will have opportunities to take part in feeding programmes as well as involvement in local schools in an evangelism project. This extended project will give you an opportunity to experience a rich and diverse culture which will no doubt be an amazing experience.
