All about the

Basildon Keyboard Club

The Basildon Keyboard Club is a concert club, every month we hold a concert featuring a professional organ or keyboard player. Over the years most of the top UK and quite a few European organ and keyboard players have played for Basildon.
The club is run by a small bunch of volunteers headed by a committee. Any profit made by the club is re invested into the club, each year we hold a general meeting when the clubs financial report is presented to members.
Basildon Keyboard Club are proud to have as their president Martin Harris.
For information on how to find the club please go to the Venue page

The committee are helped by the "team", these are the people who put out the chairs, make the tea, clear up at the end of a concert and generally make the club the nice place it is.
Ian Griffin talking to the audiance Our first concert was in September 1988, our first artiste was Mr Ian Griffin, pictured right on the night.
Since then many artistes have enjoyed playing for us, we have also heard many different instruments.

To make the evening special we have our own lighting, this is frequently backed up by our lighting managers own lights, he also owns Supreme Lighting. To make sure everyone gets a good view we have a mirror, this lets you see the artiste at work.

Who attends our concerts
Anyone who likes good music
Most members are over fifty, it is a strange thing but in just about every organ or keyboard society or club the average age is over fifty, every year new over fifties join. We try to encourage younger members and anyone of school age accompanied by an adult can come in free.
Many of our members play organ or keyboard, some play other instruments, but being able to play is not a requirement, many of our members do not play, they just enjoy good music and the company of like minded people.

Fees
Guests pay £4.50 at the door, we are always pleased to welcome guests to our concert. Entrance includes biscuits and tea or coffee in the interval and one complimentary news letter.
Membership
£10 for a Couple
£7 for single membership
Members pay £3.50 to attend a concert and get a news letter every month.

Kay setting up the raffle The committee try to keep costs as low as possible while maintaining the highest standards of presentation. To help in this we run a fun raffle and a recycled music stall. The music stall is a bring and by stall, members bring in unused musical items, anyone taking something from the stall puts a donation in the tin.

Why not come along to a Basildon Keyboard Club Concert, you will be made very welcome, have a great evenings entertainment, a complimentary cup of tea or coffee with biscuits and of course experience the delights of live music played on top of the range electronic organs & keyboards by the best players.
