Yamaha HX1

Yamaha HX1

In the dim distant days of steam TV Yamaha brought out a great new range of organs, among them was the HX1, this was a fantastic instrument with many special features. In fact this instrument was so good it is still used by John Walker and Tony Stace plus others today. It was very well built, the fact that it has stood up to the pounding given it by Tony is testament to that.
The organs orchestral sounds suited the playing style of John Walker and still do. With sixteen presets to hold registrations, a long list of effects that could be applied to nearly everything, you could spend hours setting up your favorite piece, and then because the organ didn't come with a disk drive you had to save all that hard work onto one of those expensive and not very reliable ram packs. Most organists soon added a plug in disk drive to ensure they didn't loose there work.
