| 33063 & 33065 both put in appearances on the Santa Specials during December weekends in 2002. Above, '63' propells the 2EPB EMU out of Eythorne on 7th December. Below, '65' was due to take a Santa Special on 15th Dec. but technical problems forced '63' into service as a replacement. Perhaps the inclement weather had a bearing on it. 065 is seen with its distinctive white roof while traditional 063 prepares to depart. (photos: T.Wiggins) |

On Sunday 5th January 2003, one of the Group's owner-members indulged a little and hired the pair of Cromptons to celebrate his own 33 years. The weather was typically wintry; left, 33065 waits to depart a snowy and grey Eythorne with the 1150 for Shepherdswell while 33063 is pictured at Shepherdswell waiting to depart with the 1345 back to Eythorne.
In all, five return trips were made, with the 33's working in multiple on the last return trip! | |
