QUICK SUMMARY
  • STOCK SUMMARY : has been updated with the main points from 2008, inc. 08238 and 03128.
  • 08238 : GENERATOR FAILURE!! Black '08' no. 13308 'Charlie' failed last week (w/e 7/11) and after some investigation it has been found the generator has gone to a full earth. Something of a mini disaster as it's one of the most useful locos on the DFR and was to feature in an assisting/background role for the Santa Specials in December. A powerunit/gen lift is required.
  • 03128 SOLD : without going into too much detail, I singularly failed to point out that 03128 was sold, back in the Spring! How on earth did it escape our attention? Anyhow, sold it is, to Mr. A Briddon, the loco leaving Lydney sometime back in May. The spares have gone with it. No restoration work had been done by the DFDA so the new owner will need a replacement power unit.
  • E6001 : successfully took part in the DFR diesel gala of 27/9.
    Photos and notes on the bringing together of the generator/power unit back in August can be viewed on a photopage.
  • 73101 : operational at the Avon Valley Rly.
  • 31466 : developed a mis-fire at the gala of 27/9 but no fault was found when checked. Loco is operational. Might receive a repaint over the winter period, weather permitting.
  • 31210 : cab #2 restoration underway, cab 1 refitting ongoing.
