| Notes |
Despite much of
Goram's Rangers career being hampered by recurring knee problems, he was a key member of
the nine-in-a-row run. Andy's finest moments often came in the biggest games and
some of his saves against Sellick had to be seen to be believed. One in particular
from van Hooydonk at Ibrox stands out as one of the all time greats. Since being
freed at the end of the Walter Smith era, Andy had an inspired spell of form with
Motherwell, and was also signed as a stop-gap at Man Utd in season 2000-01 by Alex
Ferguson as cover in the title run-in. However, it is his services to Rangers and
his contribution to the nine-in-a-row achievement that will be Goram's lasting legacy.
Andy Goram was known simply as 'The Goalie' such was his grip on the No1 jersey at
Rangers. |
