Built in 1845 as Tobermory Industrial School, Viewmount became a private house around 1900 and still retains many original and interesting features.  This welcoming family home is set in 2 acres of garden at the end of Viewmount Drive so there is plenty of parking and no passing traffic to disturb the peace and quiet.

We have one twin room, one versatile twin/single room and one smaller single room available, with two bathrooms for the sole use of guests.  One twin room and the single room have splendid views over Tobermory Bay.  The other twin/single room looks out over the garden to the wild moorland beyond.

There is plenty of choice for breakfast and we use local produce wherever possible, with free-range eggs from our own hens, home-made jams from home-grown fruit, and honey from our bees.  If there's anything you particularly like to eat - any special treat - do let us know and we'll do our best to get it!

Viewmount is five minutes’ walk (and ten minutes back up!) from Tobermory’s much-photographed waterfront and there are many excellent shops and places to eat throughout the town.  There are many lovely walks from the house so a car is not always necessary.

There is an abundance of wildlife to be seen on and around Mull, including otters, seals, eagles, deer, whales and dolphins.  Ravens, siskins, goldcrests, treecreepers, goldfinches, peregrines and many other birds - even the odd sea eagle - may be seen without leaving our garden and we can suggest good places to see the rest!  Famous islands such as Staffa and Iona are easily visited, together with castles and gardens, white sandy beaches, waterfalls and dramatic cliffs.  Many visitors return again and again for the fishing, hill walking, painting, photography, traditional and classical music, or to enjoy peace and quiet in a place of outstanding natural beauty.

Children over the age of 10 welcome.
Strictly non-smoking, including garden.
Reasonable curfew (11.30pm) to ensure peace and quiet (and a good night's sleep) for all our guests.
