Tigh - na - Cloich (the name means "house on the sentinel stone" in Gaelic) is a family run, licensed hotel just a few minutes walk from Pitlochry's main street....the theatre, championship golf course, salmon ladder and railway station, are also within minutes of the hotel.
The hotel enjoys glorious southerly views out over the Tummel Valley and the large garden where you can relax and enjoy a drink on the terrace.
Once inside this typical Victorian Villa, centrally heated and tastefully decorated throughout, you'll find large comfortable public rooms and a warm friendly atmosphere.
Of the 12 bedrooms at the Tigh na Cloich, the 10 double / twin rooms have en-suite facilities and all rooms have colour television and hospitality tray....and a electric blanket on all beds should you need it.
Start your day with a hearty Scottish breakfast and in the evening choose from our menu featuring many traditional dishes. We use only the best fresh produce available locally and offer a range of fine wines to complement your meal.
Even if you do not dine with us, we will be happy to serve you with your favourite drink in the lounge or on the terrace, which you can select from our beer, wine and spirits menu.
LOCATION
Tigh na Cloich Hotel is located close to the main street in Pitlochry.
We are 150 metres up Larchwood Road on the right hand side. Larchwood Road continues for another 150 metres before turning into Golf Course Road. We are just 6 minutes walk from Pitlochry Golf Course.
There is ample car parking for all our guests.

Travelling by car from the north (Inverness) or the south (Perth, Edinburgh or Glasgow) means you will use the A9 trunk road before turning off into Pitlochry's main street, Atholl Road. Pitlochry is also served by the railway, with main-line and local trains going both north to Inverness and south to Edinburgh and London. Edinburgh Airport is 1hr 15mins away and Glasgow airport is 1hr.45 mins.

We serve a traditional Scottish breakfast along with as much tea and coffee as you can drink ! We do cater for vegetarians. If you have other special diets, please let us know before you arrive!
The evening dinner menu is displayed in the morning and therefore you can decide if you wish to order on a daily basis.
Dinner is served at 6.30pm - giving you sufficient time if you are attending an evening performance at the Pitlochry Festival Theatre. A typical evening menu would be:-

THINGS TO SEE AND DO AROUND PITLOCHRY
Pitlochry is Scotland's premier inland resort and has something to offer everyone !
It is perhaps most famous for golf, fishing and the "Theatre in the Hills".
If golf is your preference then you've a choice of over 80 courses within an hour's drive of the Hotel, but you need go no further than the Pitlochry course (Home of the Highland Open) just one minute's drive away! The course is a challenging one but if your game's not up to it, then there are always the splendid views over Pitlochry and the Tummel Valley to admire!
Tigh na Cloich Hotel is one of the 6 participating hotels in the "Pitlochry Golf Week". This is a 6 day golfing competition held annually (usually the last week in April). It caters for all standards of golfer and includes prizes and evening entertainment. We will supply more details on request.
Perhaps it's the fishing that interests you...Perthshire contains a wealth of salmon, sea trout and brown trout waters. Permits can be obtained to fish locally in the River Tummel, Loch Faskally, Loch Tummel, River Tay and River Garry.

The Cuilc (5 Minutes walk from the hotel)
If you have no luck catching a Salmon then perhaps you might have more success at just seeing one in the local Salmon ladder at the Pitlochry Dam - another of Pitlochry's many tourist attractions.
Many theatre fans come to Pitlochry year after year where they can enjoy a varied programme of plays each week. The theatre is also an attraction for art and craft exhibitions, music performances as well as providing a pleasant restaurant and coffee house.

Walking is another popular activity with a choice of some lovely local walks around Pitlochry or more strenuous walks such as up the local mountain - Ben y Vrackie...

River Tay at Dunkeld
There are of course many other activities for you to pursue... you can walk, ride, cycle or just drive among breathtaking hills and glens of Perthshire, sail on the rivers and lochs, observe the impressive variety of plant and wildlife or simply go visiting. There are woollen mills, distilleries, museums, craft centres and castles galore in and around Pitlochry.

Some more places of interest might be :-
Blair Castle
This is one of the most visited castles in Scotland and is certainly worth a visit. It's only 15 minutes drive from the hotel and inside is a treasure house of the Atholl family. It has extensive grounds which are a delight to walk around. You can easily spend a day at this attraction.

Black Spout Walk, Pitlochry
This is a popular local walk within Pitlochry. No car required! The walk passes through Black Spout Wood passes an impressive water fall, and if you are feeling energetic you can extend the walk and visit Edradour Distillery after which its all downhill back to the starting point.
Glen Tilt
This view of Glen Tilt is from the local viewpoint Craigower. It's about an hours walk from the hotel to this viewpoint. If you wish to go walking in GlenTilt itself then a drive to Blair Atholl is required (15 Minutes). There are a number of Munro (Mountains over 3000' ) in this area, but these are usually for the more serious hillwalker.

Pitlochry Golf Course
This is another view from Pitlochry Golf Course. You can see why it's rated as one of the most scenic in Scotland.!! This is the 5th fairway looking down into the Tummel Valley. The walk to Graigower goes right pass this spot.
