Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Ltd and Liverpool and North Wales Steamship Co Ltd

Captains, Officers and Crew

In this section are listed some Captains, Officers and other personnel of the Isle of Man Steam Packet Co. There are also some of those who served on the L&NWS Co Ltd. All of those below were photographed between the wars by William Edward (Ted) Groom, who was a fanatic, in the true sense of the world, of all things pleasure steamer related. His story is outlined in this link and beautifully told in the book Ted's Clacton Belle, available from his grand daughter Victoria at victoriawood@supanet.com . Ted was not only an avid collector of souvenirs and ephemera but was also a keen photographer and his work records an important stage in the North West of England steamer services and gives us an insite to those companies' staff at the time. He was clearly a well known sight on the Irish Sea voyages as can be seen by the way the subjects are happy to pose for Ted's camera. Some of the subjects have been photographed more than once and on different vessels. Whilst this will be of interest to steamer enthusiasts there may also be family historians who are trying to trace long lost relatives and Victoria has kindly agreed to share these photographs with us via this site.
