Comments:
Adder was built for the Greenock to Belfast daylight mail service. She was a fast steamer, capable of in excess of 20 knots. This made her popular with her passengers who could get to Belfast and back in the same day, with time for several hours ashore, conditions permitting. Adder was 280 ft in length and her power was generated by two double ended boilers. Whilst not clear in this picture, she had buff funnels with black tops. She was sold to Argentinian owners in 1906 and was renamed Rio de la Plata. She was lost in December 1918, when she was wrecked.
