Comments:

When introduced in 1900, Arundel was a well fitted and fast ship, capable of over 20 knots. Sumptuously decorated in her First Class accommodation, she was furnished with teak and mahogany panels and buffalo hide leather. She served as a troop ship during the Great War and afterwards she survived for a comparatively long period of time, being absorbed into the Southern Railway fleet in 1923 then lasting a further 11 years until she was broken up in Germany. She was the last ship of her class on this route, being superceded by the more favoured turbine steamers.
