Westgate on Sea 1957

The Webmaster aged two at Westgate on Sea in 1957.

So, what did you do when you had travelled over from Southend to Margate by MV Royal Sovereign (IV) en route for your holiday on the sunny North Kent coast? If you were my parents, you took your young son to the beach and covered him in seaweed (what was known in our family as a "seaweed baby"). Presumably this kept me quiet and allowed my parents sometime to relax on the beach. Whilst I do remember this being done, sadly I can't remember the trip across on MV Royal Sovereign (IV)!
