Comments:
Built as an almost exact copy of Duchess of Argyll, TS Glen Sannox was launched on 24 February 1925, and achieved a speed slightly in excess of 21 knots on her trials. Like her padlle steamer predecessor, she operated on the Ardrossan to Arran Service. In the mornings and early evenings she carried commuter traffic and in the afternoons her promenade deck was blocked off to accommodate livestock, cargo and later cars. She did not operate the route in winter, when traffic became much lighter. In 1935 she was transferred to the ownership of the Caledonian Steam Packet Co from the LMS. During the Second World War she was used as a troop carrier, between Larne & Stranraer. Due to high operating costs, Glen Sannox and Marchioness of Lorne were sold from the CSP fleet for breaking up at the end of the 1954 season
