Comments:

Shown here in her post WW1 colours, this iron hulled steamer enjoyed a long life in service on the South Coast between Southampton and the Isle of Wight. In the years prior to the Great War she was used on the Bournemouth to Swanage service, sailing again from Swanage in 1920. She saw brief war service in 1914 as a patrol vessel but was returned as unsuitable. In the Second World War she went to help in the Dunkirk evacuation in 1940, but after waiting for a time at La Panne she returned empty handed to Dover. Post war, she was lightly used and was utilised for cargo and tendering duties. She was sold in 1952 for scrap and was broken up at Northam.
