A regular visitor to Great Yarmouth from Fresh Wharf London, Hoboken was the first of the GSNCo boats to have a continuous raised promenade deck, which extended over her fore and aft saloons. Future vessels constructed for the company, including the Classical Bird boats would also have this design, as did the famous Belle Steamers. Prior to service on the Great Yarmouth run, Hoboken had been used for service from London to the Kent coast piers. When this picture was taken in the 1870's, the GSNCo boats sported black funnels, although the excursion ships later changed to buff funnel with black tops, with only the cargo boats retaining the all black funnel. Upon the introduction of the Eagle in 1898, Hoboken was withdrawn and scapped in her twenty fifth year.
