Comments:
The original owner of this ship was a company formed by the boat's builders, Fairfields. They had tendered for the building of Mona's Queen (II) but were not awarded the contract. They believed their design was superior to the Mona's Queen and built Queen Victoria and Prince of Wales to prove a point. These ships proved much faster than those owned by the IOMSP, who bought out the IOML&MSCo and both boats. She continued on service to the Isle of Man until 1915, when she was requisitioned by the Admiralty for net laying duties and was sent to the Mediterranean. She was returned in 1920 but was considered too costly to refurbish and was sold for scrap at the price of £5450.
