Comments:

Tynwald V was the third of the post war turbine steamers to be built for the IOMSP Co. She was similar to King Orry and Mona's Queen, but had more windows on the promenade deck. She achieved over 21 knots on trials and ran her maiden voyage from Liverpool to Douglas on 31 July 1947. In 1952 in February, she was involved in an accident and sunk the barge Eleanor in the River Mersey. She continued in service for the company until 1974, when she was withdrawn and sold at the end of the year. She was sold to a Welsh concern and resold for breaking by Spanish breakers in the following year. Her steam whistle, however was removed before sale and was later fitted to Ben-my-Chree in 1978.
