Comments:
United Service was a wooden clinker built tug and was originally intended for towing work. As this lively picture shows, however, she was regularly used for excursion work from Great Yarmouth. For a while she was employed on a regular service from Great Yarmouth to Cromer, although this ceased in September 1894. In the winter time she returned to her tug boat duties and was involved in salvage and rescue duties, including towing the Caister lifeboat to a boat which had run aground near the Wolf Lightship. She survived, continuing her mix of towing and passenger duties until she was withdrawn in September 1937.
