Comments:
One of three sisters built by Dennys for the LCDR, Lord Warden was built for the night crossing channel service and was used on the day service when required. Like her sisters, the Dover and Calais (II), Lord Warden sported a black top and cowl to her single funnel and was powered by triple expansion engines supplied by her builders. All three ships lasted only 15 years in service and were considered out of date when replaced. Whilst Calais was sold for further service, the other two were scrapped ; Dover at Norweigan and Lord Warden at Dutch shipbreakers
