3 x OHS students apply for US exchanges (a senior year at a US High School) - Sarah Campbell is successful and goes to Centreville, Alabama in August | ||||||||||||||||||||

Tom Laurenson pays a private visit to Laurinburg with son Alasdair. Local shop owners ask for help in stocking Scottish items. | ||||||||||||||||||||

June 95 |
3 x SHS teachers and 10 x SHS students arrive in Oban. They win several medals at Seil Island Sports. 3 additional students pay private visits but travel with the group The group return to Laurinburg with a large David Webster photo of Oban - a gift from Oban Rotary to Laurinburg Rotary. The picture is hung in the foyer of the hotel where Laurinburg Rotary meet. | ||||||||||||||||||||

The Oban link is featured in the pages of the Scotland High School Yearbook. Ann Stack arrives from Laurinburg for 3 weeks on a study scholarship, researching William Wallace Other visitors include Sarah Stewart (researching the Stewart clan as descended from Daniel Stewart of Lismore)) and Judge Bill MacIlwain of Laurinburg | ||||||||||||||||||||

OHS teacher Mrs A Stewart and 12 students visit Laurinburg and man a stand at the John Blue festival. The students are:
NC state flag presented to group by representative Doug Yongue Laurinburg Rotary present a Ricky Evans original Laurinburg artwork to Oban Rotary. This is carried back, and presented. It hangs in the McCaig room of the Regent Hotel in Oban |
