Who Brews...........
Carlton Draught ("for over one hundred
years")
An easy one to start with! That's Carlton United Breweries
from Australia.
Stud Lite ("when you want to stay in
control")
This was a short-lived low calorie beer from Cameron's
Brewery in the U.K.
Gerst Amber Lager
From the Evansville Brewery in the USA. This company from
Indiana has ceased brewing.
Grünhalle Lager
This was originally produced by Bierebrauerei Lager GMBH of
Eggolsheim, Bavaria; which was acquired by Edward Greenall, owner of Randall Vautier of
Jersey and also a director of Greenall Whitley. Has been brewed in UK by Devenish,
Greenall Whitley and Randall (Jersey) and marketed by other breweries.
Splügen
This is the name of a high mountain pass which has given
its name to speciality lagers produced by the Italian Brewery Poretti in Varese. Their
best known beers, so George Morrow of Belfast tells me, are Splugen Fumee, Splugen Rossa
(7%) and a German-style, black beer Splugen Scura (6%). Fernando Cardoso mentions that
Poretti also have a brewery in Olona while "Beers of the World" by Gilbert Delos
mentions a brewery in Ceccano. Can anyone confirm the location of the breweries? The
company was founded in 1877, but is now owned by Carlsberg.
Halleröder Premium Pils
This is from the Hasseröder Brauerei of Wernigerode in Germany.
(Feranando Cardoso).
Mutzig Old Lager - Biere Speciale
These days, this is a French Heineken brand. Mutzig and
three other companies from the province of Alsace- Espérance, Perle and Colmar, merged in
1969 to form a company called AlBra (Alsacienne de Brasseries). Three years later they
were acquired by Heineken.

Brody
This is a UK cider produced by the Taunton Cider Company
(George and Fernando).

George Barone).

USA.
Bridge of Lions
