Flowers Bitter and Brewmaster are two of the beermats used in the late 1950's and early 1960's. wpeB.gif (22471 bytes) wpeC.gif (22348 bytes)
wpeD.gif (27704 bytes) Flowers more than trebled their total number of issues in the early 1960's when the Flowers To Pick series appeared between the years 1961 to 1964. This series featured beermats with an advertisement for a Flowers beer on the front backed with information on growing one of twelve different flowers. Three beermats featuring the rose were misprinted and subsequently corrected. There were seventy-five beermats to collect and my early collecting years were spent trying to acquire them all.
Illustrated are a front and back from the most difficult part of the series to acquire. These featured Heavy Export Ale and appear to have been issued only in the North East of England.

The last few Flowers issues were in the, at that time, characteristic style of the Whitbread group and not very interesting.
