Unemployment and Job Vacancies
Unemployment is a key measure of deprivation and hardship and this
often has an adverse effect on marketing response. This TRAC dataset
provides an up to date set of measures based on published Government
statistics of counts unemployment and job vacancies. The published
figures for super output areas and datazones were standardized and
rates per thousand households calculated. These rates were then
linked to postcodes to provide a unique and current picture of the
local economy.
The datasets contains
i) Rates of unemployment.
ii) Rates of unemployment broken out by gender and age
iii) Rates of unemployment by duration (more than 12 months, between
6-12 months). Long term unemployment is very powerful predictor
of real economic hardship and is very significant for the health
of the local economy.
iv) Rates of job vacancies as notified to job centers for both full
time and part time vacancies. This is another powerful measure of
the state of the local economy.
v) Unemployment rates and long term unemployment rates banded into
20 equal sized groups for profiling purposes.

The data can be used in a wide variety of applications that include:-

direct mail, telecanvassing, door-to-door canvassing & leaflet drops.

sales targets and evaluating site performance.
g) Perform advanced statistical analysis & modelling.
