A brief description of Lignières-Orgères

Situated to the north-east of the Department of Mayenne on the borders of  Normandy and of Maine,  Lignières-Orgères is a  small town offering to visitors a wide variety of landscapes.  The area is of undulating countryside with the highest point culminating at 371m. Carefully protected, the countryside offers a landscape of "bocages", farmland and woodland. Many monuments: churches, chapels, and calvaries attract those people interested in art and monuments, while several areas in this superb landscape offer the opportunities for walks or hikes.
There are many old paths and tracks which permit the walker or hiker to discover the "bocage" through the ages.
The many rivers, streams and ponds allow some fine fishing.

The Sacred Heart, the highest point of Lignières-Orgères (371 m). The statue watches over and protects the commune.

This imposing statue was erected in 1948 after the war, in thanks for the commune having largely escaped from the bombardments.
