1.5 Million MG's

Don't you love statistics and this month MGR have excelled themselves by producing the 1.5 millionth MG ever made on the 16th April. This breaks conveniently down to 1 million roadsters and half a million saloons.

To celebrate this auspicious landmark in this Jubilee year MGR have built a unique MG TF . This vehicle is TF160 and is finished in a special paint under the Mongram programme, a range of 20 special  colours. This one is called Monogram Jubilee Gold and has a "Supertalic" finish.

The car will take place in a motoring cavalcade in Pall Mall on the 4th June as part of the jubilee celebrations following which it will be auctioned for charity.

This car is strictly a one off although you should be able to get the same colour for an extra £800 on the cost of the basic TF.

There was a similar project in 1977 when a blue MGBGT was built with special silver jubilee livery and sold for charity.

Incidentally the 500,000th saloon was an anthracite ZT-T 190 although this seemed to get a bit lost in the general celebrations.

To make this car extra special it has been fitted with seats of Oxford Leather bolsters and black alcantra centres and headrests with a special golden Jubilee monogram.

Each of the 162 alloys has a special "crown" centre insert and the words "The 1.5 millionth MG" are written above each side air intake. There is also a crown incorporated in the rear 160 gold ingot.

Just in case there is no mistake in the future this car has been registered as

MG02OTF

It is the 4027th TF built and has the VIN number of ;-

SARRDLBPC2D604127

(note : TF VINs started at 600101)

As a footnote the total number of MGF's made was

77,269

and TF's to date number 4027.
