Let's get this straight first of all - I don't own a cat. You can't own a cat. They will sometimes, if it pleases them, share their house with you, and eat whatever food you might offer them, so as not to give offence (cats have impeccable manners), but there is never any question of ownership.

Now the Naming of Cats is a difficult matter, as you will know if you've read Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats . Finding a cat is, however, seldom a problem. If you are a suitable person, before long a cat will find you. They will, of course, try their hardest to make you believe that it is you who have found them, even going as far as arranging for you to rescue them. Sometimes, even Big Cats need rescuing too.
