Anderlecht were established in 1908. Their address is Stade Constant Vanden Stock, avenue Theo Verbeeck 2, Anderlecht, 107 Bruxelles. Tel: (02) 5229400 Fax: (02) 5200740 they can also be found on the web at http://www.rsca.be
The Stade Constant has a capacity of 28,000, 6,900 standing, 18,737 seated, 1,538 business seats, 215 seats of honour and 222 official seats. Anderlecht are probably the biggest club in Belgium, though the last couple os season have been disappointing by their standards. Anderlecht have won the league championship in Belgium more than any other club and have also has the most success winning the Cup-Winners' Cup in 1976 and 1978 and the UEFA Cup in 1983.
The best way to get to the Stade is to take Metro line 1B to Saint Guidon and from there it's a five minute walk to the Stade. The main ticket office is located on avenue Theo Verbeeck. The home end is Tribune #4 or #5, away fans are in the opposite section Tribune #1. The best place for neutrals is along the side of the pitch in Tribune #3. The cheaper tickets are the standing areas at either end of the ground. RSC Anderlecht fans are usually friendly enough unless you mention FC Bruges, though some sections do create some problems, Anderlecht O-Side and K4 Casuals for example, these two groups usually congregate in sections M4 and K4 of the ground. Anderlecht produce a bi-monthly publication, 'Anderlecht Sports', cost 50BF. The RSCA Fan-Shop can be found at the ground and stocks all the usual club souvenirs and is open Monday to Friday 10am-6pm and Saturday 10am to 5pm.The best place to get a pre-match drink is in the Place de Linde area between the Metro station and the stade, which is full of bars. Past the stadium, La Coupe at avenue Theo Verbeeck 57 is a football bar and it is adorned with football memorabilia. There are also some designated bar areas in the stadium.
Within Belgium Anderlecht are hated mainly because of their wealth and success over the years and they can usually afford to buy the best players and they are seen as snobbish among rival clubs, in contrast the area of Anderlecht around the Stade itself is very run down and poor. Brussels other main club is RWD Mollenbeek who seem to yo-yo between the top two divisions. The other club in Brussels is Union Saint-Gilloise.
Brussels is the home of a great variety of beers and the bars are open very late. Grand Place is the real tourist area but within a five minute walk of here are some great bars, down rue du Marche du Charbon or rue du Midi, or west the other side of boulevard Anspach. The classic Bruxelleois beer is Gueuze which is well worth sampling but beware of the hangover. Most varieties of food are available in Brussels. Accommodation in Brussels caters for the business community so if you shop around you should manage to pick up a good weekend bargain.Any correspondence should be e-mailed to
