Notes for: Priscilla Prout Vigars

Robert Lewis Vigars refers to Priscilla as "Clara" or "Clare". She was born in 1850 at Ysputty Cardiganshire and she was there, at Levelfawr, with her parents in 1851. She appears to have been named after her deceased maternal grandmother. We have found no trace of her in the Census Returns in 1861 & 1871, nor for that matter, of a registration of birth. When Priscilla marries William Bowen in 1874 she is at 10 Basnett Street Liverpool. They are still in Liverpool when William is born in 1876-7 but by the birth of Marie in 1878 they are at 107 Sefton Street Southport. In 1881 the family is at 67 Hampton Road North Meols (Southport) Lancashire although by 3/10/1890 when Probate is granted for Priscilla's father they are at 2 Bold Street Liverpool. According to Robert Lewis Vigars she died in 1910 after "falling down stairs".
