Notes for: Alfred William Vigars
Alfred William was born at Llanfihangel Cardiganshire in 1856 & was with his
parents & family at New Row Llanfihangel in 1861. His whereabouts in 1871 is
not yet known. When he married Elizabeth Morris at the Liverpool Register
Office in 1879 he was a Bookkeeper resident at 36 Gt George Street Liverpool.
Elizabeth's address was Bridge Street Carnarvon & her father, who was
deceased, also a Bookkeeper. Perhaps they met when Alfred was apprenticed to
her father. By 1881 Alfred is a Book Keeper with
Elizabeth at 6 King Street Aberyswyth Cardiganshire Wales. They return to the
area where Alfred was brought up. When their daughter Catherine is born in
1883 Alfred is now caled an Accountant & they reside at North Parade
Aberyswyth. When Elizabeth dies in 1917 they are still there but Alfred is now
an Ironmonger. He probably was also an agent for explosives to supply the
local mining trade and his Son-in-Law eventually took over the business.
