Report concerning newly encountered Koralon sub-species.
|

From:
Major Angus McNicholl, VASA Recon Group GFR-002.
|
The
Koralon are known to use human subjects in their biological manipulation
to create the various breeds of Araktons we know see in the forefront
of their attack lines. We know also that coraline spores can infect
almost any type of biological material, the various Koralon worlds
to which we have dispatched scout / recon teams provides us with
considerable evidence of this.
Its
is there for not entirely surprising that a Koralon force encountered
on Sammael's Fall seams to have been accompanied by 'Coralised'
Creature. Gene-testing on the recovered remains, though far from
concussive suggests that the original host genus was that of a Ling
Worm, a dangerous predatory beast indigenous to Sammael's Fall,
similar to large snake or eel. Though the beast was of enormous
proportions and covered with tough coralised plates of armour, our
forces had been expecting to engage a Sytha strike team reported
to have been the area and were equipped with rocket launchers what
proved to be invaluable.
Due
to the excessive size of this beast and its ferocity in close assault
we have codenamed it 'Kraken'. While there is little we can to prevent
future monstrosities from appearing within the Koralon ranks we
can educate our field commanders in how to deal with such a threat.
I recommend the use of anti-armour tactics and the inclusion of
rocket launchers and TAV MLRS systems in forces that are likely
to encounter this type of opposition in the future.
Kraken
The
Kraken is not composed of Koralon genetic rootstock, unlike the
Hydra. This creature is a wholly separate species that has been
assimilated by exposure to coraline spores and perhaps some form
of control conditioning. What little is certain from limited battlefield
exposure in that its shear size will cause even the most discipline
troops to consider running for cover and its powerful jaws mean
that is can chew through a Tiger with little difficulty.

Grievous
Wounds: The creature is slowed by terrible injuries, each
time the Kraken tries to move it may do so only on a 5+.

Carapace
Damaged: Part of the Krakens armoured carapace is cut
away by the injury, reduce its T by 1.

Toxin
Bladder Punctured: Centre a large circular template over
the head of the Kraken and apply the effects of the toxin
to all models in the area of effect (not the Kraken), the
Toxic Spray may not be used again.

Lucky
Hit: For all the Kraken’s size and power it is susceptible
to a wound penetrating it in just the right place. The tares
through the beast’s brain cavity, killing it instantly.
|
Jaws & Tail Lash
The Kraken fights using its
massive jaws or by delivering a powerful whiplash attack with its
huge tail, both are extremely powerful and break through even heavy
armour with a direct hit.
