[c] Revised Interval Test | You need to recognise the Major 3rd, Minor 3rd, Perfect 4th and 5th. You might find it helpful to do preliminary work on scales below. For practice your could use the older style Recognising Intervals test and the old Upper & Lower note test below. |
| Older material which used to be in Section B |
Singing the notes in a scale | In the old syllabus candidates were asked to sing the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th degree of a scale. The page starts with some preliminary work then gives you a test to work on. |
| Upper and Lower notes | This test is now, logically, part of the Intervals test | |

DOWNLOAD SYLLABUS | This link takes you the RSCM Midlands page from where you download the complete syllabus for all RSCM awards. |
These pages were designed to help my choristers prepare for the RSCM's Dean's Award according to the new syllabus which came into effect in 2008. If you are a visitor from another church or Diocese you find the pages useful even if they do not match the syllabus you are using. However, even if you are in my Diocese or RSCM Area I make no guarantee that the questions set are of the standard, style or type you will get in your Dean's Award Examination. This page is for training purposes only. If in doubt, consult your choirmaster.
