Example questions

In your answers try to give the important information first, then build on it.

[Q] What is the first sung item in your service?
[A] Everyone sings the first hymn. This comes after the notices which the Headmaster reads out. By 'everyone, I mean the choir and congregation which consists of pupils, parents and friends.

[Q] When do you sing the anthem?
[A] Once the opening prayers have been said the anthem is announced. The choir reposition themselves slightly [so they can be seen and better heard] and we sing it without a conductor, so we have to concentrate really hard.

[Q] What kinds of anthem do you sing?
[A] We have sung pieces by Wesley, Alan Smith, John Rutter, Colin Ashworth, Simon Lole, Graham Kendrick, and sometimes we sing a hymn which the school may not know.

[Q] Do you all sing all the time?
[A] No, there are sometimes soloists or duets.  During an anthem different ages groups in the choir might sing a section.

[Q] Do you always sing the anthem in the same place?
[A] Yes it always follows the Lord's Prayer.  Very occasionally we do not have an anthem.

These next two questions are of the kind which used to be asked.

[Q] What happens during the final hymn?
[A] The collection is taken.

[Q] Which prayers are said by everyone during the service?
[A] The Confession, The Lord's Prayer and the Grace.
