You should know how to tell what key a piece of music is in.

EXAMPLE
Here we have a chord with 4 notes. First, 'compress' the notes into a close position triad, as shown (either on paper or in your head). If a note is duplicated [D in this case] only use it once.
As this is a triad built on 'D' and the key signature has 2 sharps we are on good ground for calling this chord the Tonic Chord of D major or Chord I
However, in the 4-part chord the lowest sounding note is an 'A'. Using knowledge from Grade 5 this makes the chord second inversion or Ic.
So the chord is Tonic of D major, second inversion, or Ic in D major.
Try to identify these chords which are all in D major.
