You may wish to listen to music, something soft and soothing, though even listening to your favourite music quietly would work.
You should think positively and not dwell on the negative aspects of your illness. Imagine yourself fully recovered or enjoying life to the full.
Dim the lights if possible or light a candle in a safe place. Aromatic candles may help you to relax, but check the instructions, some can be stimulating rather than relaxing.
If you have difficulty relaxing, think about relaxing every individual muscle starting from your feet. If you clench the muscle first you will find it easier to relax it. You may find you have one area that keeps tensing without you noticing, so keep going back to it during this process. Eventually you will not need to go through this process. Ultimately you will be able to reach a meditative state but Healing will happen even if you do not.
Ultimately meditation is your goal because this will help you everyday to cope even when you are not receiving Healing, your own relaxation will bring you the balance which will mean you will be unlikely to get serious ill-ness.
Meditation allows us to open up to the healing, recover from stress by relaxing completely.
